Call Comments: APA Guidelines for Psychological Practice for People with Low-Income and Economic Marginalization

APA is seeking feedback from psychologists, researchers, educators, students, regulators, and the wider community on its 2019 Guidelines for Psychological Practice for People with Low-Income and Economic Marginalization (LIEM), which are set to expire in 2029. The Guidelines support culturally responsive psychological practice by addressing how economic position and related barriers, such as limited access to quality education, childcare, healthcare, insurance, and other resources, affect health and well-being. APA aims to ensure the revised Guidelines reflect current laws, policies, ethical standards, and the evolving needs of the communities psychologists serve.

Reviewers are especially encouraged to identify areas that should be updated, expanded, or added to ensure the revised Guidelines remain relevant over the next decade. The revision process seeks to strengthen guidance for psychologists working to reduce the impacts of LIEM status at the individual, community, structural, and policy levels.

Call for Comments: APA Resolution on Bullying Among Children and Youth 2026

The Committee on Children, Youth and Families (CYF) is pleased to submit a revised version of APA’s Resolution on Bullying Among Children and Youth for public comment. The original resolution was developed by CYF and adopted by the APA Council of Representatives in 2004. As part of its ongoing policy evaluation, CYF identified the need for substantial updates to both the language and content to reflect current scientific understanding and the evolving landscape of bullying among youth.

The proposed revision updates the resolution to reflect current scientific research, incorporate contemporary terminology, and address emerging forms of bullying and victimization affecting children and youth, including those occurring in digital environments. The revised resolution is intended to strengthen APA’s advocacy efforts and advance the research, dissemination, and implementation of evidence-based prevention, assessment, and intervention strategies that mitigate the psychological, social, academic, and developmental impacts of bullying and promote safe, inclusive, and supportive environments for all children and adolescents.

The document is available for a thirty (30) day period of public review and comment. We invite you to review the draft and share your feedback through the APA comment portal by September 11, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
