Revised APA Resolution on Promoting Global Perspectives in U.S. Psychology
Deadline to Submit Feedback: October 2, 2025
The Committee for Global Psychology (CGP) is pleased to share a revised draft of APA’s Resolution on Promoting Global Perspectives in U.S. Psychology for public comment. Originally authored by CGP and adopted by the APA Council of Representatives in 2017, the Resolution has been updated to reflect current science, modernize language, and strengthen alignment with APA’s mission and activities.
This revision aims to offer clearer guidance on integrating global perspectives across the diverse domains in which APA operates. CGP welcomes your review and encourages you to provide specific feedback to help refine the document further.
The draft revision is available for public comment through the APA Comment Portal for a 30-day period, ending on October 2, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
APA Multicultural Guidelines (Pre-Revision)

The American Psychological Association (APA) invites public comment as it begins the initial phase of revising the Multicultural Guidelines: An Ecological Approach to Context, Identity, and Intersectionality (2017). This public comment period is designed to gather broad input on the current guidelines before any revisions are drafted.
We welcome feedback from psychologists, researchers, educators, students, practitioners, and other stakeholders across sectors and communities.
Purpose of this Public Comment
This feedback period will help inform the scope and direction of the forthcoming revision. Your insights will help identify strengths, gaps, areas in need of clarification, and emerging topics that should be considered.
You are invited to comment on:
- Aspects of the current Multicultural Guidelines that remain useful or relevant
- Areas where revisions are needed due to changes in psychological science, practice, or sociocultural contexts
- Emerging issues, frameworks, or populations that should be addressed
- Ideas for improving clarity, applicability, and impact across diverse settings
- Recommendations for increasing accessibility, implementation, and dissemination
